Like a Shining Star: You are the Light in Darkness
The devil doesn’t want you to know that you are the best of God’s creation. You are the pinnacle of God’s success story. You are the crescendo of all creation. You are a star. The word star is defined as a famous person, a celebrity, brilliant, celebrated excellent, great, major prominent, leading principal, best, and light. God has made you the light of the world to show his glory. His glory is his magnificence, his splendor and beauty, his triumph, and his stardom. You are a shining star a light in the darkness.
The first thing God does is bring light into our darkness. Just as the first act of God when he stepped out of heaven was to separate the light from the darkness. The first thing God did when he stepped out of heaven was separate the light from the dark… when he steps out of heaven into your mess the first thing he does is attempt to separate you out of your darkness.
Shining is a Choice. Unlike the earth, you have a chose. 2 Corinthians 4:6 For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. The atmosphere surrounding the earth did not have a soul. It could not argue with its created purpose. When God blew into Adam the breath of life, (His breathe) scriptures say that man became a living soul. It is only humankind that became living souls. The soul contains the mind, will, and emotions. We are the only ones in creation that was given a soul. We have a choice. As much as you love you pet, your pet is wired to react. Even when it licks you in the face, it is only a reaction. We were made in his image and likeness. John 1:5 says that it is possible for the light to shine in our lives in the dark recesses of our mind and we won’t even comprehend it “And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.” You can even fool yourself and think that the darkness is light according to Luke 11:35 which says Take heed therefore that the light which is in thee be not darkness.
When I was a little girl, we used to sing a little song with the lyric “this little light of mine, I am going to let it shine”. It is a fundamental truth. We are the light of the world. As in Matthew 4:16, the people which sat in darkness saw great light; and to them which sat in the region and shadow of death light is sprung up. The world is setting in darkness but we are the light that the world is waiting for. Jesus, the light of the World, has commissioned us to be lights. Matthew 5:14a Ye are the light of the world.
We are not to allow ourselves to be hidden. Matthew 5:14a Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. Matthew 5:15 Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. Matthew 5:15 Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. Matthew 5:16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. Light is important to humanity. According to scripture, the purpose of light is:
- To bring peace
- Luke 1:79 To give light to them that sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the way of peace.
- To give direction to the unsaved
- Luke 2:32 A light to lighten the Gentiles, and the glory of thy people Israel.
- To drives out evil (when you have a single focus living without a compromised perspective)
- Luke 11:34 The light of the body is the eye: therefore, when thine eye is single, thy whole body also is full of light; but when thine eye is evil, thy body also is full of darkness.
The world system is designed to keep men blinded. According to 2 Corinthians 4:4, “…the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them”. When we bring forth God’s light, people are able to see their way out of darkness. According to 2 Corinthians 4:6, “for God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ”.
So… Let there be light… those in darkness are waiting on you to show forth your light. Arise and shine! Live Unlimited!
